SACO — Roger J. Patnaude, 78, of Saco, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at his residence.

He was born in Biddeford on Jan. 4, 1938, the son of Wilfred and Fabiola (Poisson) Patnaude. He attended St. Louis High school, and was a parishioner of the former Notre Dame de Lourdes Church.

He was employed by Biddeford Textile, working in the blanket manufacturing division, in the dye house for 15 years. He also worked for Nike footwear and the Maremont Corp., retiring in 2000.

He was an avid sports fan, rooting for all the New England teams: Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots. He was a member of the Biddeford Eagles Club, the Voltigeur Club, Amvets and the St. Louis Alumni Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene (Gilbert) Patnaude, in June 1981; his brother, Robert Patnaude; and one son-in-law, Rick Boisvert.

He is survived by: two sons, Michael and his wife Tammy of Windham, and Marc and his wife Suzanne of Berwick; two daughters, Nancy Boisvert of Scarborough and Joanne Freemen of Old Orchard Beach; one brother, Richard of Waterboro; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St. Saco. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, May 13, at Most Holy Trinity, Main Street, Saco. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
