FIRM HELPS WITH AGING WORK FORCE

LTC Financial Partners, LLC, a national long-term care agency, has formed a new division in Portland called Worksite Academy. The academy will address long-term health care issues associated with the loss of productivity, job turnover and stress-related illnesses caused when an older worker has to cope with care-giving duties for an aging family member.

The Worksite Academy division will be led by Todd Grove, a founding partner of LTC, with offices in Portland. It will be co-led by Ed Jette, co-founder and former co-owner of Empower Services, a long-term care work site specialist. Jette maintains LTC offices in Boston. Both men will have the title of national director of work site sales.

LEARNINGWORKS EXPANDS SERVICES

LearningWorks, a new community-based youth services center, has expanded operations at the J. Richard Martin Community Center at 189 Alfred St., Biddeford. Ethan Strimling is the chief executive officer of the program, which offers services for at-risk youth dealing with juvenile justice and mental health issues.

The office works to provide case management, supervision and enrichment for youth at risk of detention; anger management and skills training for youths who struggle with aggression, substance abuse or other such behaviors; and targeted case management for youths with diagnosed behavioral health disorders, many of whom are involved in the juvenile justice system.

CHIROPRACTOR OPENS NEW OFFICE

Chiropractor Geoffrey Bove has opened a new office at 405 Mills Road (Route 9), Kennebunkport. Bove, a licensed chiropractor since 1988, specializes in patients with acute and chronic pain. He was an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and now is an associate professor at the University of New England in Biddeford.

Bove received his doctorate in 1994 and has conducted research in anatomy and neurobiology, addressing questions about abdominal and pelvic pain, as well as pain specifically related to sciatica, headaches and endometriosis.

He has published many original research articles and spoken worldwide on these and other topics, and has taught human anatomy at Harvard Medical School and University of North Carolina Medical School.
