From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Three Wells High School teachers have been granted stipends for graduate work this coming summer. Principal Carl F. Knowlton has announced that Mrs. Bonnie Jean Smith, history teacher, Robert McClisky, foreign language teacher, and John Littel, psychics teacher, have been awarded these summer stipends.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “Rev. James A. Ferguson, an ordained Baptist preacher since 1861 and a man known far and wide in the northern parts of York county for his many good works and kindness of heart, died at his home in Goodwins Mills Wednesday afternoon, about 4 o’clock, aged 86 years. Death was due to a complication of disorders, from which he had suffered some months, although his health had not been of the best for some time prior to this last sickness.”
