SACO — Maurice L. Austin, 87, of Saco, passed away at Evergreen Manor in Saco on Thursday, March 10, 2016.
The son of Levi and Nellie (Clair) Austin, he was born in St. Francis on July 30, 1928. He attended Emery School.
He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. On September 3, 1949, he married Lorraine Dubois, and they settled in Saco to raise their family.
He was employed at Pepperell Manufacturing in Biddeford, Woodstructures in Kennebunk, and finally worked in maintenance for the Maine State Police in Scarborough.
Mr. Austin was a parishioner of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Saco.
He was preceded in death by his son, Glen, in 2012; three brothers; and 10 sisters.
He is survived by: his wife of 66 years, Lorraine Austin of Saco; his granddaughter, Lynn Lessard and her husband Robert of Hollis; and a great-granddaughter, Theresa Lessard.
There will be no services. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
