LOWELL, Mass — Roland Lucien Neveux, 85, a resident of the Highlands section of Lowell since 1957, passed away on Tuesday Jan. 16, 2018, in Maine, after a period of declining health.

He was the loving husband of Lucille (Godard) Neveux, his high school sweetheart, with whom he would have celebrated 63 years of marriage on February 5, 2018.

Born in Biddeford, Maine on April 9, 1932, he was a son of the late Henry E. Neveux Sr. and Marie Anne (Brunelle) Neveux.

Roland was educated in the Biddeford, Maine, school system having graduated from St. Louis High School in 1952. After graduation, Roland enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1956. He then attended Lowell Tech before going on to have a career as a quality engineer at Raytheon in S. Lowell that spanned for 35 years. He loved to golf and was a member of the Raytheon Retirement Golf League. He enjoyed traveling and camping but, most of all, enjoyed time spent with his family and grandchildren. Roland was a faithful parishioner of St. Margaret Church in Lowell.

In addition to his wife, Roland is survived by his two daughters, Deborah L. Neveux of Lowell and Wells, Maine, and Donna M. Neveux of Rindge, New Hampshire; two grandchildren, Erik Daniel Steele of Prescott, Arizona and Jillian Godard Steele of Rindge, New Hampshire; and a sister, Priscilla Griffin of Worcester. He was the father of the late Daniel R. Neveux and was the brother of the late Henry, Paul and Robert Neveux and Pauline Boisvert.

Visitation will be held on Friday Jan. 19, 2018, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret Church, 374 Stevens St., Lowell, MA 01851. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
