A series of crashes in Scarborough and South Portland has slowed traffic on the Maine Turnpike.
The Maine Turnpike Authority reports numerous collisions involving passenger cars and commercial vehicles in the Scarborough and Saco area. The authority issued the alert at 2:37 p.m.
The crashes occurred between Exit 45 in South Portland and Exit 36 in Saco and snarled southbound traffic in that area.
State Police report no serious injuries as a result of the crashes.
