Flore was born Feb. 14, 1926 in Biddeford Maine to the late Leonel and Leatitia (Huot) Goulet. Her mother died when she was 4 years old and she and her brother Fernand were lovingly raised as her own by her late stepmother, Merilda (Bisson) Goulet. She grew up in Biddeford and graduated from Saint Andre’s High School in 1944.
After graduation she began working as a bookkeeper at Pepperell Mills. She worked there until her retirement at age 63. She married Maurice U/. Provencher on Oct. 23, 1948. Together with love and devotion, they raised three children. Flore was a dedicated volunteer at St. Andre’s parish. Over the years she would be found serving as a Eucharistic minister, counting the weekly collections or serving funeral luncheons.
In 2014, following an injury, she moved to the Inn at Atlantic Heights in Saco, Maine. There she had many friends and enjoyed knitting, bingo and playing cards. In 2015, a sudden illness required her transfer to Seal Rock Health Care. The family would like to express their appreciation for the compassionate care that she received there.
She leaves her children, Brother of the Sacred Heart, Gerald Provencher of Nashua, New Hampshire, Jeanne Shea and her husband Stephen of Lancaster, Massachusetts, Claire Morgan and her husband Kerry of Weldon Spring, Missouri. Her granddaughter, Susan Shea of Brookline, Massachusetts, also survives her. She will be greatly missed by her devoted and loving sister, Priscille Gobeil. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Frances Provencher and many nieces and nephews.
She lost the love of her life, Maurice, in 1991. She is also predeceased by her parents, her infant sister Lorraine Goulet who passed away when 2 months old, her brothers Emilien Goulet, Fernand Goulet and his wife Viola Nardi, Leo Goulet and his wife Connie, her brother-in law, Henri Gobeil, and her beloved grandson Gregory Shea.
