PHIPPSBURG – Thomas R. Cashman, of Phippsburg, Maine, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2019.  Tom suffered from Alzheimer’s disease for the past two years and moved with his wife Martha to the Boston area in December of 2017, to be closer to family.

Tom was the beloved husband of Martha for 57 years, father to Beth Cashman Costa, T. Michael Cashman (Katy) and T. Matthew Cashman (Christine) and grandfather to Brianne, Lindsay, Garrett, Thomas, Eric, Sean, Erin and Ryan.

Tom was born on May 8, 1936, in Nahant, Mass. He graduated from the University of Maine (Orono), served two years in the U.S. Army, worked at AT&T for 25 years and after retiring to Phippsburg, Tom spent the next 30 years working at Sebasco Harbor Resort.

Tom was a man of deep traditions. To know him well was to know he never waffled on his views of religion, military service, family, politics and the value of hard work.

Tom will be deeply missed by his family and many, many friends.  He enjoyed life fully, deeply loved Martha, his kids and his grandkids – who all held a very special place in his heart. In return, his family loved him dearly and he will be forever remembered as Tom, “TRC”, dad or simply “Gramps”.

A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Mary’s in Bath on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made to the:
