KENNEBUNK — A recent plea for artwork, as a way to turn art that no longer appeals or matches décor into funds for the Kennebunk Free Library, has resulted in an overwhelming response from the community. KFL has received over 50 pieces of art which will be on display in KFL’s Speers Gallery starting Friday.
A bid book with additional information about each item will be available for viewing in Speers Gallery. People who wish to place a bid on any of the items will first need to sign up for a free bid number at the adult desk. Limited items will be available for purchase.
Bidding will end at 5 PM on Feb. 20.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
