CLEVELAND (AP) — LeBron James scored 25 points and Cleveland gave Tyronn Lue his first win as head coach by beating Minnesota.

Cleveland lost to Chicago on Saturday, a day after Lue replaced David Blatt, who was fired on Friday.

The Cavaliers struggled with the Timberwolves before going on a spurt that began late in the third quarter and carried over into the fourth.

Cleveland still had to hold off a run by the Timberwolves, who cut a 15-point lead to 94-91 midway through the fourth. Tristan Thompson scored seven straight points and Matthew Dellavedova hit a 3-pointer, giving Cleveland a 104-91 lead.

Thompson had 19 points with 12 rebounds, and Dellavedova scored 18 points as Cleveland had six players in double figures.

Karl Anthony-Towns led Minnesota with 26 points and 11 rebounds.

HORNETS 129, KINGS 128, 2 OT

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — DeMarcus Cousins set a Sacramento record with 56 points, most by an NBA player this season, but Charlotte edged the Kings in double overtime after Troy Daniels hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 9 seconds left.

Daniels made eight 3s and scored a career-high 28 points, enough to help the Hornets overcome a dominant performance down low by Cousins. The All-Star center grabbed 12 rebounds before fouling out early in the second overtime. He surpassed his previous career best of 48 points set one game earlier in Saturday’s victory over Indiana.

Cousins broke Chris Webber’s mark of 51 points for a Sacramento team, also in an overtime game. Rajon Rondo had 20 assists and 10 rebounds for the Kings, who had won a season-high five in a row.

Kemba Walker scored 24 for the Hornets, who won their third straight. Jeremy Lin added 20 points and 11 assists.

ROCKETS 112, PELICANS 111

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — James Harden scored 35 points and Trevor Ariza added a season-high 31 to help Houston beat short-handed New Orleans.

The Pelicans played the second half without All-Star forward Anthony Davis, who left late in the second quarter with a concussion after getting elbowed in the head by teammate Tyreke Evans.

Houston, which did not have center Dwight Howard for the third straight game due to a left ankle sprain, hit a season best 19 3-pointers. Ariza connected on his first six 3s.

Jrue Holiday scored a season-high 32 points for the Pelicans, adding nine assists and six rebounds. He had a chance to win the game after New Orleans got the ball with 4.7 seconds left following a Houston shot-clock violation. Out of timeouts, the Pelicans had to go the length of the court, and Holiday’s contested 35-foot shot at the buzzer did not come close.

HEAT 89, BULLS 84

CHICAGO (AP) — Dwyane Wade had 28 points, Chris Bosh added 18 and Miami rallied from an eight-point deficit early in the fourth quarter to beat Chicago, snapping a four-game losing streak.

Wade scored 10 points in the fourth period. He and Bosh combined for the last five points in the final 1:02 as the Heat snapped an 84-all tie.

Pau Gasol had 19 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Bulls. Jimmy Butler scored 13 on 5-for-15 shooting.

Bulls guard Derrick Rose didn’t play in the second half because of lower back and right hamstring injuries.

GRIZZLIES 108, MAGIC 102, OT

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Jeff Green scored a seasonhigh 30 points and Memphis defeated slumping Orlando in overtime.

Two free throws by Mike Conley with 15.9 seconds left provided the final margin. The Grizzlies could have put the game away earlier, but converted only four of their first eight free throws in the extra session.

Zach Randolph finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Marc Gasol had 17 points, Courtney Lee added 16 and Conley had 12 points and nine assists.

Tobias Harris, Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier scored 16 apiece for the Magic, who lost their sixth straight and 10th in 11 games.

A late 9-0 run by Orlando took the Magic lead to 100- 96, but Green took over for Memphis. He scored on a dunk, stole the ball on the next Orlando possession and converted an 11-footer for a 100-all tie at the end of regulation.

PISTONS 95, JAZZ 92

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Reggie Jackson scored 29 points and Detroit never trailed against Utah.

The Jazz cut their deficit to 88-87 on Rudy Gobert’s floater, but the Pistons responded with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope’s layup and a jumper from Jackson with 1:08 left.

Rodney Hood led the Jazz with 23 points, and Gordon Hayward scored 22. Gobert finished with 17 points and 17 rebounds.

Ersan Ilyasova had 16 points and eight rebounds for the Pistons.

HAWKS 119, NUGGETS 105

DENVER (AP) — Paul Millsap scored 22 points, Al Horford had 18 and Atlanta completed its Western Conference road swing with a win over Denver.

Jeff Teague had 12 points and 10 assists for the Hawks, who went 2-2 on their trip. Dennis Schroder added 15 points off the bench.

Will Barton led the Nuggets with 21 points and rookie Nikola Jokic had 15 points and 10 rebounds.
