BIDDEFORD — Gertrude Boisvert Birtles, 92, of Biddeford, passed away on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016.
She was born in Biddeford on Aug. 10, 1923, to Henry and Alice (Houle) Ouellette.
She was educated at St. Andre’s School and Biddeford High School She worked for 30 years at Maremont Corp. and St. Francis College as a receptionist.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Ernest Birtles, in 1995; three brothers, Armand, Gerard and Raymond Ouellette; and a sister, Theresa Panasci.
She is survived by: one son, Richard Boisvert and his wife Doris; one daughter, Joan Boisvert Simard and her husband Normand; seven grandchildren, Dawna Sue Boisvert Foley and her husband Clay, Richard Boisvert Jr. and his wife Kathleen, Russ Boisvert and his wife Jessica, Barry Boisvert and his wife Danielle, Marc Simard and his wife Michelle, David Simard and Elizabeth Simard; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A private service was held on Jan. 22 at Cote’s Funeral Home, Saco.
Gertrude’s family would like to thank the staff at Gosnell Hospice for their excellent care, compassion and kindness.
