LIMERICK — Gloria Ann Gallant, 67, of Limerick, died on Aug. 10, 2014 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born in the St. John River Valley area of northern Maine on June 12, 1947, a daughter of Emilien and Augustine (Cyr) Levesque.

She graduated from Madawaska High School and also attended Husson College for one year.

Gloria was a stay-at-home mom while her son, J.J., was young. When he got older, she worked for several years as a secretary for St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Limerick, where she was a longtime member. She later worked for 15 years at Unum Insurance Company in Portland, retiring as a supervisor. After retiring from Unum, she was office manager for Dr. Adele Carroll’s practice in Limerick.

She loved making jewelry in her spare time, as well as gardening and watching QVC and the Jewelry Channel. She loved a bargain and could navigate a dollar store like no other.

A funeral Mass will be on Thursday, Aug. 14 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 19 Dora Lane, Limerick. Father Albert Colpitts will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Annex Cemetery in Limerick. After the burial, Gloria’s family will be hosting a celebration of her life at her residence at noon. Food and drink will be provided.
