Mary deBoisblanc, 90
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Funeral services are scheduled Monday in New Orleans for Mary Anne Pecot deBoisblanc, a primitive folk artist from Labadieville known for her paintings of life in Louisiana’s Acadiana region.
Her son, Dr. Ben deBoisblanc, said she died Thursday at age 90 and had been in failing health in recent years. deBoisblanc was a selftaught artist. Her son said she took up painting as therapy during a childhood illness.
