Bath – David Sturniolo age 89 of the Whiskeag Road died suddenly January 17th in Topsham. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 16, 1929 the son of David and Rachel Cacace Sturniolo. He attended Stuyvesant High School in New York City. David graduated from the City College of New York with a BS in chemistry. He earned his MBA from New Hampshire College. 

During the Korean War he served two years in the Army. After his honorable discharge from the Army he completed his studies at the City College of New York at night while working fulltime as a junior engineer for the Borough of Manhattan. 

On April 19, 1958 he married Norma Barlam in Yonkers New York. She died May 10, 2018. 

David worked at Burroughs Wellcome and at the Atomic Energy Commission before coming to Maine in 1970 to work as the Chemistry and Health Physics Supervisor at the Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company. 

Surviving is his daughter, Debra Kopansky of Brunswick and her children Nathan, Jessica, Bryce and Rehannon. A son, Greg Sturniolo of Biddeford and his children Channel, Celeste and Samuel. He is also survived by his great grandchildren Matthew, Aiden, Chance, MaKenzie, Avery, Bailey and Harper. 

A private service will be held at a later date. The family would also like to thank the staff at the HillHouse in Bath, especially the girls in activities for always making him smile.
