Easton, MD:
Cynthia A. Swing, 82, passed peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton.
She was born on June 21, 1936 in Lisbon Falls, Maine, the daughter of the late Willis Curtis Allen and Pauline Eulalia Margitan Allen.
She was predeceased by her sisters Alison Ross and Ruth Cameron and brothers Willis Allen and Edwin Allen.
Cynthia graduated from Johns Hopkins with a B.S. Degree in nursing and worked for many years at William Hill Manor, The Pines and Bel Pre Manor.
She is survived by a large family; her husband, John “Jack” Mumford Swing of Easton, a daughter-in-law, Jackie Slater (Mart) of Virginia Beach, VA and son-in-law, John Swing (Bill Derry) of Milford, CT.
Cynthia’s children, son David Hartman (Jenny) of New Market, son Chris Hartman of Halethorpe and son Jon Hartman of St. Augustine, FL and daughter Sara Danenmann (Steve) of Royal Oak.
Her grandchildren, Steve Hartman (Amy), Emily Hartman, Laura Hartman, Anna Hartman, Morgan Danenmann, Charles Danenmann, Ryan Slater (Christine) and Cameron Hartman and great-grandchildren, Madelyn Hartman, Drew Hartman, Brody Hartman and Paisley Weiss.
Other beloved family, former husband Richard Hartman and his wife Diane Cunningham of Naples FL, nephew Paul Allen (Sandra, son Graham (Abby) sister-in-law Marion Allen of Harpswell, ME and brother-in-law James Cameron of Wollaston, MA.
Nieces, Virginia Balsamo (Robert), Karen Allen, Debbie Allen, Shirley Allen, Pam Abbruzzese, and a very special niece, Diane MacLaren.
The Family thanks all of Cynthia’s scattered Maine, Montgomery and Talbot County friends and former colleagues. As well as the amazing medical teams that took care of Cynthia and a special mention to Dr. Bruce Helmly and Dr. Funlola Famuyiwa.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., 200 S. Harrison St., Easton, where friends may call one-hour prior from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
A second service is also planned for later this year in Maine.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cynthia’s honor to the Talbot Paramedic Foundation, P.O. Box 2237, Easton, MD 21601.
