From the Journal Tribune: “According to (Saco) Mayor Mark Johnston, the city has decided to ‘move on’ after the $10 million proposed bond that would go toward closing the Maine Energy Recovery Company was rejected by voters Nov. 8. The city’s new approach may include resumption of a lawsuit against Maine Energy that had been set aside during almost two years of negotiations.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Saco officials are faced with a possible dilemma in the next two days. Absentee ballots are available at the city clerk’s office today. City Clerk Robert J. Fenderson said that, because of the unusual situation brought about by the petition to place the sewer ordinance in referendum, City Solicitor Ronald Ayotte will have to decide whether to hold these ballots until the outcome of the petition is known.”
