PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A Pawtucket man wanted in connection with a weekend hit and run crash that seriously injured an off-duty Providence firefighter has been ordered held without bail.
Lee Carrazana was arraigned Tuesday in Providence District Court on charges related to the crash early Saturday morning. Prosecutors say he was driving an SUV that collided with a pickup truck driven by 27- year-old Matthew Gallant.
Carrazana, accompanied by his lawyer, surrendered to police on Monday and was taken to a hospital after complaining of injuries from the crash.
A judge set bail at $35,000 for the charges related to the crash, but ordered the 33-year-old Carrazana held without bail for a previous, unrelated charge.
