WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man has pleaded not guilty to charges he severely abused his 7-year-old son.

The Worcester Telegram reports that 26-year-old Randall Lints, of Hardwick, was ordered held on $200,000 cash bail during his arraignment Wednesday in Worcester Superior Court.

Lints and his girlfriend, 22-year-old Alexandra Chadwick, were indicted late last month on charges including assault and battery on a child causing substantial bodily injury. Chadwick pleaded not guilty at her arraignment in September.

Both are due back in court Nov. 18.

Police called to the couple’s apartment July 14 found Lints’ son, Jack Loiselle, unresponsive and weighing only 38 pounds, well below the average for his age. Court documents indicate the boy was severely dehydrated and had burns to his hands and feet and bruising to his head.
