One person was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland for what rescue officials are calling non-life threatening injuries following a head-on crash between a tractor trailer truck and a sedan in the area of 653 Carl Broggi Highway (Route 202) in Lebanon. Lebanon Fire and Rescue, along with Maine State Police, were called to the scene at 1:05 a.m. today. Lebanon responded with two engines, an ambulance and a command car. Due to the nature of the call, an engine and heavy rescue were also requested from Rochester, New Hampshire, according to Lt. J.T. Harmon. Crews found a passenger car and a tractor-trailer, both with heavy damage on opposite sides of the roadway. Debris was scattered across the road, and there was a significant amount of diesel fuel and motor oil that had leaked out of the truck. Route 202 was shut down for approximately three hours while crews worked to clear the roadway. Also responding were Maine State Police, who are investigating the crash, and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, who were on hand to deal with the spill.
