BIDDEFORD — Jacqueline L. Nantel, 84, of Biddeford, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at St. Andre’s Health Care Facility after a long illness.

She was born in Biddeford on Oct. 24, 1930, the daughter of Alfred and Amanda Houle Soulard, and was educated in Biddeford schools.

On Sept. 28, 1957 she married Robert E. Nantel in St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford. He died on March 4, 1992.

Mrs. Nantel worked with Bates Mfg. Co. in Lewiston, Saco Tanning Corp. and Nike Shoe in Saco, Kennedy Elementary School Cafeteria in Biddeford and last worked at Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick, retiring in 1992.

Jackie enjoyed watching soap operas, playing cards with family and friends, her peanut butter fudge, the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots and visits by her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by: a brother, Roland “Red” Soulard; and two sisters, Theresa Lemay Fournier, and Aline Bergeron.

She is survived by: her son, Robert J. Nantel Sr. and his wife Tracy of Biddeford; a sister, Madeleine Soulard of Biddeford; two grandchildren, Robert J. Nantel Jr. and his wife Megan of Limerick, and Jennifer L. Foster and her husband Colby of South China; one great-granddaughter, Payton Foster, due in October; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 4- 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.

Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel. Memorial donations in Jackie’s memory may be made to the St. Andre’s Health Care Facility Activity Fund, 407 Pool St., Biddeford, ME 04005.
