LEWISTON — Peabo Knoth scored three times to lead the Bates College men’s soccer team to a 6-0 shutout of the University of New England in a non-conference men’s soccer match played Thursday at Garcelon Field.
Luis Pereira had a hand in five of Bates’ six goals, scoring twice and setting up three others. PJ DiBenedetto had the other goal for the Bobcats (3-0), who displayed impressive efficiency on offense, scoring six times on just nine shots on goal (20 total shots).
Bates received a total of two saves from three different goalkeepers, while Nate Diffin had a pair of saves for UNE (2-4).
