WISCASSET — Central Maine Power Co. has awarded Chewonki Foundation and other groups a grant to pay for the lease or purchase of a plug-in electric vehicle.
The grants range from $11,000 to $15,000 and are designed to encourage the use of plug-in hybrid and electric cars in Maine, while gathering data about their use. The grants were announced Wednesday in Portland.
