SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A Springfield man charged with fatally stabbing his 17-year-old ex-girlfriend is scheduled to go on trial next summer.
A Hampden Superior Court judge on Tuesday set a June 20 trial date for 20-year-old Nicholas Lacrosse, who faces a murder charge in the February 11 death of Kathryn Mauke.
Mauke, a high school senior, was home sick from school the day of her death. Authorities say surveillance video shows Lacrosse arriving at her home and leaving 30 minutes later.
Mauke’s older sister came home and found her on the kitchen floor, bleeding from stab wounds to her chest and neck.
Lacrosse is being held without bail after pleading not guilty. His lawyer had no comment.
