BRUNSWICK EMERGENCY PERSONNEL took a Monmouth woman to Parkview Adventist Medical Center to be examined after she drove her car into a bridge abutment on Water Street on Monday night. The single-car accident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Patrol officers attempted to stop the car after they spotted it driving slowly and weaving along Federal Street, according to Brunswick Deputy Chief Marc Hagan. Hospital officials later determined that the woman, Cynthia Parker, 46, had suffered “a medical issue” leading up to the crash. The extent of Parker’s injuries was not available. Police said both front airbags in her 2003 Honda deployed when it struck the concrete stanchion. Parks and Recreation personnel were called to secure the area after the accident.
