To the Editor:
This Election Day I will be casting my vote for Byron D. Watson in the School Board race in District 1.
Byron Watson is a man of honor and dignity, and he will bring with him a strong voice for all east Brunswick citizens.
I have known Byron my entire life and have watched Byron firsthand fight for lower property taxes while using a common sense approach for local government policies.
I was in attendance at the Cumberland County Civic Center when Byron walked down the aisle, shook then U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe’s hand and received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Southern Maine.
It is so encouraging that Byron wants to stick around a community he loves and use his knowledge to help with the development of Brunswick for a better tomorrow.
Byron Watson has always been a strong advocate for the younger generation. Whether it be through coaching, volunteering, or mentoring, Byron has been a positive, visible member of the community. I hope you will join me in voting Byron D. Watson for the District 1 School Board seat.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
