HOLLIS (AP) — State police say two men have surrendered after separate standoffs.

Spokesman Steve McCausland says Ed Hutchinson, 50, surrendered around 11 p.m. Tuesday following a sixhour standoff at his home. Police were called to the house after Hutchinson fired a shotgun blast that blew out a window. He’s been charged with reckless conduct with a firearm and criminal threatening. He was taken to the York County Jail.

About 280 miles away in Amity, Gary Knapp, 65, walked out of the woods at his remote camp unarmed around 3 p.m. after a daylong standoff. He has been charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and was taken to Aroostook County Jail. Authorities say he threatened his brother with a rifle Monday night.
