HAMPDEN — Tristan Gardner scored an unassisted goal and Filip Bilek scored off an assist from Nick Gilpin to lift Hampden Academy over Mt. Ararat 2-1 in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference boys soccer action on Saturday.

Joe Thomas scored unassisted a minute and a half into the first half for Mt. Ararat, which fell to 8-3-2 and is scheduled to host Brunswick Tuesday at 6 p.m.

“It went back and forth and I thought we dominated much of the second half,” said Mt. Ararat coach Rick Renaud. “They had urgency and we didn’t. They were the better team that day.”

Isaiah Bess made four saves on seven shots for Hampden (12-1 and vaulted to No.1 in Eastern Maine Class A), while Jon Roux had eight saves on 13 shots for the Eagles, currently seeded fourth.

JD Souza scored three goals and dished out two assists as the Wolverines rolled to a win at Wales on Friday.

Wiscasset, 8-3-2 and scheduled to host Hall-Dale on Tuesday at 6 p.m., received two goals from Camden Reiss, and one each from Bryson Grover, Brandon Goud and David Marcus, with Russell Marr earning two assists and one helper coming from Nate Woodman.

Dylan McMahon had three saves in one half of work for Wiscasset, while Oak Hill (0- 12-1) received 24 saves from netminder Kyle Field.

Following a pair of scoreless halves, Austin Fournier fired a goal into the back of the net on a penalty kick with one minute remaining in overtime to lift Lisbon past Winthrop in Mountain Valley Conference boys soccer action on Friday.

The Greyhounds (6-5-2, scheduled to host St. Dom’s on Tuesday) controlled the pace of the game, making 20 attempts on net, while keeper Nate Bergeron made four saves.

Matt Sekarek registered eight saves in net for the Ramblers (2-10-1).

The host Wolverines closed out their Mountain Valley Conference regularseason slate with an easy win over Telstar on Thursday.

Wiscasset, which finished 11-2-1, received two first-half goals each from Sarah Hanley and Shania Marr for a 4-0 advantage at the break.

Miranda McIntire added three second-half goals, with Kasey Cromwell chipping in two and Michaela Trudeau adding the final goal, the first varsity goal for the senior.

Telstar (0-11-2) received a goal from Cassie Blaszczak.

Wiscasset goaltender Kayla Gordon had three saves.
