To the Editor:
I am writing about Rich Ellis, who is running for re-election to the Brunswick School Board. I hope the residents of District 1 will give serious consideration for Rich on Tuesday, Nov. 5, between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. at Brunswick Junior High School.
During the five years I was a member of the board, I had the opportunity to serve alongside 15 different members. Rich stood out as incredibly dedicated and hard working. He utilized his business acumen to fully probe concerns about budgets, facilities and student achievement. , Rich always advocated for decisions he thought best for students, families, teachers and families as a whole.
Rich and I have not always agreed, but I have always respected the time and effort he has put in. I can assure his constituents he takes his duties very seriously.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
