A bit before that, Obama’s radical Islamist experiment with the Muslim Brotherhood exploded in Egypt, killing scores of Christians. Before that, four Americans and perhaps more were unnecessarily murdered in Benghazi, left to die by the president and the Secretary of State.
He also tells the nation he will negotiate with despots in Russia and Iran — but not our own Congress concerning the debt and Obamacare. Remarkably, just yesterday, establishment Republicans caved to end the government shutdown, thus giving us Obamacare.
Speaking of Obamacare, did you know that the not-so- Affordable Health Care Act that was passed into law, vetted by the Supreme Court and signed into law by the president is not law, because he changed the law on his own, which is against the law?
It does not require a Ph.D. or law degree to understand that the president has no authority whatsoever to make up his own law and impose it on the American people. However Betsy McCaughey, Ph.D., author of “Beating Obamacare,” points out that this is exactly what Obama has done. After the president signed the law, he stripped the employer mandate for his big-business buddies and no one else. He changed over half of the statutory deadlines and caps on out-of-pocket expenses, and gave 1,472 waivers for his political favorites.
The down-and-dirtiest Obama trick was the 75 percent subsidy for Congress and their staffers. During the government shutdown, Angus King voted — I believe twice — to stick you with the Obamacare bill while exempting himself.
There’s more!
The “deal” brewing in the Angus King Senate right now will give Obama’s union buddies an exemption, too.
That’s right: The Hill.com reports “unions poised to win delay of Obamacare tax in budget deal.”
Are we surprised? I contacted King’s office and his response was not surprising. He said he agrees with the president that all Americans should be required by government to purchase health care insurance.
As you may know, the U.S. Constitution clearly forbids the government to force a citizen to buy anything.
What was surprising, though, was the senator’s statement that “I would have voted for the law as written.” Written which way, senator? The way before or after Obama changed it?
Did King actually read the 2,000-plus pages of legal jargon and know exactly what the bill says “as written?” Did he also read the 10,500-plus pages of regulations that affect Mainers’ lives in a devastating way?
My fellow Mainers, understand that the demonized Sarah Palin/Paul LePage tea party would never have forced this tyranny upon you and your family.
Washington has gone nuts, and our own Angus King has proven to be nuts right out of the gate. I truly wonder what else King Angus believes the working class serf like me should be “required” to do.
Senator King, please do enjoy that 75 percent health care subsidy you voted to keep for yourself, sire.
