BRUNSWICK— For the second straight week, Bowdoin sophomore Andrew Murowchick has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.
Murowchick continued his excellent season for the Polar Bears by nailing a pair of second-half field goals that proved to be the difference in a 27-21 win over Hamilton at Whittier Field. His last field goal was a 26- yard kick with 2:55 remaining in the fourth quarter to make it a six-point contest. In addition to his two field goals, Murowchick hit three extra-point attempts and averaged 38.0 yards per kick on three punts for the afternoon.
For the season, Murowchick is tied for the NESCAC lead with six field goals and has not missed a kick or PAT this year (10-for-10). He is fourth in the league with 22 points among kickers.
As a punter, he ranks fourth in the conference with a 37.8 yard average.
The Polar Bears (2-2) will look to extend their win streak next weekend as they travel to play at Trinity (4-0) at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
