TOPSHAM

Every Fresh Cookbook sold at the Topsham Hannaford will generate a $5 donation to support Bath Area BackPack Program through the month of August.

The Bath Area BackPack Program provides meals and snacks to hungry children in Bath area schools that include Dike Newell, Fisher Mitchell, Bath Middle School, West Bath School and Phippsburg Elementary School. Students get either a bag of food in their backpacks to take home or have their choice of food available at a pantry at the Bath Middle School, food boxes and fresh produce made available the “Share Table” at the West Bath School.

Fresh produce is also available at the Bath elementary schools and at Phippsburg Elementary.

The Bath Area Backpack Program mission is to generate funds to provide nutritious, easy to prepare food for food insecure children to insure that they have enough food during school-year weekends and vacations when they can’t depend on school free and reduced- price meals to avoid hunger.

In addition to the purchase of the cookbook, donations to the Bath Area PackPack program are welcome. Checks can be mailed to P.O. Box 1155, Bath, ME 04530 and donations are also accepted through bathaerapackpack.org.

For more information, email [email protected] or call program chairwoman Pamela Cox at ( 207) 386- 1358.
