BRUNSWICK — Kira Wolpow and Julia Champagne each scored a goal as the Brunswick High School girls soccer team slipped past Oxford Hills, 2-0, in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference contest on Tuesday.
Champagne assisted on Wolpow’s goal as the Dragons improved to 7-4 and visit Mt. Blue on Friday.
“I thought we were excellent today and passed the ball very well,” said Brunswick coach Martyn Davison. “We looked dangerous every time we attacked. Oxford was dangerous on the counter attack, but I was pleased with our defensive discipline to keep them to long distance shots.
Brunswick held a 16-8 shots advantage, with Dragons keeper Haley Murano turning aside eight shots for the shutout.
Oxford Hills (5-3-2) goaltender Sam Bickford also has eight saves.

Cat Johnson and Ella Millard each scored a goal off corner kicks as the visiting Flyers (7-1-1) downed Freeport in Western Maine Conference play.
Livvy Dimick had 13 stops for the Falcons, 7-4 and scheduled to visit Traip Academy on Friday.
Waynflete netminder Juliana Harwood had 10 saves.

In East-West Conference action on Tuesday, Kelsea Anair scored off a rebound with 1:17 left in the second overtime to lift the Bobcats past Rangeley.
The winning shot was set up by a Meranda Martin cross.
Tori Letarte scored for the hosts at 7:14 of the first half and Richmond didn’t get on the board until with 12:07 left in regulation when Amber Loon converted a penalty kick.
Richmond led in shots 28-2 with Kelsie Obi making one save. Taylor Estes was busy in the loss with 21 stops.
Richmond midfielders Martin, Autumn Acord, Chika Obi, Camryn Hurley and Kayla Beaulieu stood out.

The Wolverines defense shut down Monmouth sniper Kylie Kemp and the rest of the Mustangs offense, and Wiscasset scored a goal in each half for a Mountain Valley Conference win in makeup action.
Miranda McIntire scored on a free kick with 5:32 left until halftime, and Kasey Cromwell put home a pass from Sarah Hanley midway through the second frame for some insurance.
Wiscasset goaltener Kayla Gordon had 10 saves for the shutout, while Monmouth’s (7-4) Mikayla Cameron had three stops.
