To the Editor:
I am a resident of Brunswick and have been devastated by the bullying in the Bath and Brunswick high schools. The kids are being affected.
Some of them have disabilities and need more help with one-on-one classes; and it has been brought to my attention that those with special needs are being left behind or made to feel less than those who are in college prep classes.
It hurts to watch those children with disabilities be made fun of. I, myself, had a problem with learning; everyone learns at a different pace and style. They are all great kids, no matter how they learn. Some may just need a little support, and bullying any child, in my opinion, is not OK, no matter whose child it is.
Thanks to all those teachers and staff who have made a difference in the life of a child.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
