BATH
Bath Iron Works is being awarded a $13.3 million modification to a previously awarded contract for material and labor to complete work on the DDG 1000 deckhouse.
Work will be performed in Bath and is expected to be completed by June 2014. The contract modification was first reported by MarineLink.com
General Dynamics — parent company of BIW — also won a $25.7 million contract for its Electric Boat Corp. division in Groton, Conn., to maintain the dry-docked USS Providence submarine in order to maintain its full operation, as well as upgrades.
That work will be performed in Groton and is to be completed by April 2014.
