LISBON FALLS — Nick Huston and Austin Fournier each scored a goal in the first half as Lisbon High school held on the rest of the way, earning a 2-0 Mountain Valley Conference boys soccer victory over Carrabec on Tuesday.

Lisbon goalie Nate Bergeron made sure the Cobras (1- 4-1) didn’t see the inside of the Greyhounds’ net, making 11 saves to earn the shutout.

Austin Bedford and Kyle Whitman were each credited with assists, and Dylan Clifford shined on defense.

Lisbon improved to 2-3-1 and goes to Telstar on Monday.

The host Rangers scored two goals in each half in picking up a Western Maine Conference win over 1-4-1 Freeport at Cumberland.

Jacob Nason scored twice, with one goal each coming from Ben Leverett and Aidan Black. Hunter Graham dished out three assists, and goaltender John Wright turned aside three shots.

For Freeport, netminder Brendan Qualls had nine saves.

The Falcons return to action Friday at home against Lake Region (3:30 p.m.).

Robbie Small scored three goals to lift Mt. Ararat past the Rams Tuesday in KVAC action.

The Eagles improved to 3-2- 1 and host Bangor on Friday.

In the first half, Small scored at 1:32, Griffin Stockford at 8:25, Justin Pierce at 29:13, Small with 5:08 left (PK) and Isaac Bradshaw with 2:30 left.

In the second half, Small converted a second PK with 28 minutes left and Cony’s Jeff Thibodeau scored a minute later.

Mt. Ararat led in shots 19-2 and in corner kicks 2-0 with Jon Roux and Mason Griffin combining on one save. Brad Elwell had 10 saves for the 2-3- 1 Rams.

JD Souza scored his first of two goals at 18:22, leading visiting Wiscasset past Telstar 3-0 in MVC soccer action Tuesday.

Travis Padilla caught the Rebel defense flat and scored to open the second half.

Wiscasset goaltender Dylan McMahon made three saves for the Wolverines (3-2-1 and scheduled to visit St. Dom’s on Thursday).

Bronson Dean stopped 11 shots in net for the Rebels (2- 4).
