FREEPORT — Police arrested two men Sunday near the Hunter Road athletic field after allegedly finding them with marijuana plants.
Charles Leonard, 27, of Brunswick, and Michael Gammon, 48, of Richmond, were charged with cultivating marijuana, Police Chief Gerald Schofield said.
At 8:37 p.m. Sunday, police allegedly found a car with its lights out at the recreational field complex, then discovered a bag containing six marijuana plants at the front of the vehicle, Schofield said.
A woman found with the men was not charged, according to Schofield.
The incident remains under investigation. The two men are scheduled to appear in West Bath District Court Nov. 19.
