BRUNSWICK
Following weeks of construction, College Street will reopen to through-traffic at the end of the work day Friday, the Brunswick Public Works Department announced Thursday.
According to the announcement, the final top course paving from South Campus Drive to Sills Drive is not complete yet and several sidewalk areas remain to be paved, as well as completion of final landscaping. However, College Street and most sidewalk sections will be passable over the weekend. The contractor, Harry C. Crooker and Sons, had hoped to have final paving completed this week but several days of rain last week prevented the earlier completion.
Next week the section of College Street from Coffin Street to Sills Drive will be closed again while the final work is completed, according to the traffic announcement which adds, “Substantial completion is anticipated by the end of next week but could extend into the following week if we get wet or cold weather conditions.”
