LEWISTON

Hunter Landry drove in the game-deciding run, then later threw the game-ending pitch in Pastime’s 3-2 victory over Bessey Motors in an American Legion baseball Zone 2 clash Sunday.

Two of the top teams in Zone 2 were knotted at 1-1 in the fifth when Landry followed Brock Belanger’s RBI single with one of his own to give Pastime (12-3) a 3-1 advantage.

Bessey Motors (12-3) cut the deficit to 3-2 in the top of the seventh when Cam Slicer led off with a double, moved to third on a Rodney Bean single and scored on Janek Luksza’s sacrifice fly. That ended Hunter Richardson’s day on the mound and a bid at a complete game, with Landry coming in to record the final out.

Jack LeBlond helped out Richardson in the top of the fourth by throwing out a runner at home from his spot in right field to keep Bessey Motors’ early lead to 1-0.

Bean led Bessey Motors at the plate with three hits, while Belanger and Landry both had two for Pastime, which travels to face Rogers Post on Tuesday.
