BRUNSWICK — Mid Coast Senior Health Center announces a monthly support group for those caring for someone with dementia, with presentations designed to help understand the challenges, fostering supportive and beneficial conversation among participants.
Diane Dalton, manager of quality and compliance at Mid Coast Senior Health Center, will present, “Brain Related Changes in Alzheimer’s Disease,” 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19.
The presentation will use an instructional video to cover various changes that occur with the progression of dementia. The talk will focus on understanding cognitive loss and ways to develop a positive approach when communicating with people with dementia.
The free support group is open to the public and meets the third Thursday of every month at Mid Coast Senior Health Center, 58 Baribeau Drive. For more information, call 373-4656.
