SKOWHEGAN (AP) — A 22- year-old central Maine man has been indicted on a murder charge in connection with the beating death of another man.
Jason Cote of Palmyra was indicted Friday in the death of 47-year-old Ricky Cole on July 17.
The Morning Sentinel reports that prosecutors allege that Cote beat Cole with a pipe in a mobile home Cole was renting in the town of Detroit.
Court records say Cote snorted methadone and Xanax at a friend’s home on the day of the attack and later went to Cole’s residence to get more drugs.
Cote entered no plea at his initial court appearance in July to charges he murdered Cole.
