
She was born June 16, 1945, to James A. and Marion E. Betts. “Betty,” as she was known to family and friends, had a joyous spirit and always wore a smile. She was known for her love of children, Florida sunshine, reading and her cat “Tritty.”
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Ivan C. Shaw.
She is survived by her only daughter, MacKenzie Jones and her husband, Jason; and many siblings, nieces, nephews and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Grover Cemetery, Mountain Road, Woolwich, on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m.
A gathering for friends and family to celebrate her life will follow at 77 Westport Bridge Road, Wiscasset. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to The American Heart Association in Marion’s memory, at donate.americanheart.org.
