To the Editor:
This is just my opinion, but I would hope that other Bath citizens are of a similar opinion that Bath City Council members have spent enough of their time and meetings on the sale of the old Bath Memorial Hospital.
I believe it is time the Council is allowed to get on with the business of running the city.
The sale is final; the Council has answered all of the questions — it seems to me — that they need to. A new policy has been made about future sales of property, and they agreed to an outside entity to investigate the role of the Council in the sale.
I also believe we made a good sale: Almost $800,000 on a $1 investment is nothing to sneeze at.
I personally am happy the old, deteriorating building is no longer the burden of we the taxpayers.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
