Violent death in another form has made headlines in recent months. Investigative journalists have infiltrated Planned Parenthood and made videos that depict the slaughter of unborn babies. It has been sickening to see various organs, arms, and legs displayed with a callous disregard for human life. There has even been documentation of the “harvesting” of a head while a heart was still beating. This used to be called murder. These investigative journalists have been accused of editing the videos to portray their point of view. However, the full videos posted on their website do not support that claim.
A group has formed using the slogan “Black Lives Matter.” This group emphasizes the conflict between law enforcement and our black population. They express outrage over the death of these black men and promote violence against police. Of course black lives matter, and they matter just as much as white, yellow or brown lives.
What has not been documented in the Planned Parenthood videos is the obvious. Planned Parenthood does most of its abortion business in the black populated inner cities. The black population is about 13 percent of the total population of the United States. Yet, just over 35 percent of abortions are to black women. There are an estimated 1,876 black babies aborted every day in this country; an estimated 16 million since 1973. More than 75 percent of the abortions in New York City are to black women. These baby parts that are being sold have to involve an inordinate number of black babies. Where is the outrage?
Dr. Ben Carson, a black man, who is a world renowned neurosurgeon, was asked recently to offer a solution to the violence. His answer was that the black population needs to stop accepting a pat on the head and insist on reforms that educate and instill pride of life and family.
A recent “Another View” article put forth that values were the principle cause of a declining American culture. Some responded to that article with ridicule. From what has been written above there should be no ridicule in that the value of human life has declined to a dangerous place. We cannot solve real or perceived injustice with lawlessness.
Do “Black Lives Matter”? Sure they do, but that is only a part of the real truth, that “All Lives Matter.” The Bible plainly tells us in Acts 17:26; “And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth. …” We are all of “one blood” and all lives matter equally. We need to recognize all human life as important and sacred.
