She was born in Brunswick on July 25, 1928, the daughter of Joachin and Marie Plourde Cloutier. Pauline attended Brunswick schools. On Nov. 30, 1963, she married Frank Thelen III at St. John’s Church. He died July 13, 2011. Pauline traveled extensively with her husband supporting Commander Thelen’s naval career.
Pauline loved cats. She was a member of St. John’s the Baptist Church.
Surviving is a son James Thelen of Pownal and his fiancée Kasie, and her daughter Faith, and a niece Frances Lucas of Brunswick.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Sept. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick. A Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, Sept. 3 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Church-All Saints Parish, Pleasant Street, Brunswick. Burial will follow at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta.
Memorial donations may be made to the Coastal Humane Society, 190 Pleasant St., Brunswick, ME 04011. Memorial condolences may be made and a video tribute may be viewed at stetsonsfuneralhome.com.
