CASCO (AP) — Officials say the 28-year-old motorist who caused a crash that killed a 4-year-old passenger and seriously injured the boy’s mother never held a driver’s license.
The Portland Press Herald reports that Michael Minson was running late for his job at Dunkin’ Donuts in Naples when lost control of the car he was driving and crashed into a utility pole Tuesday on Route 11 in Casco.
Investigators believe Minson was behind the wheel.
A spokeswoman for the secretary of state told the newspaper that a search of Minson’s driving history turned up no license in Maine or another state. Minson did apply for and receive a state identification card this summer.
The Associated Press couldn’t find a phone number to reach Minson.
