SABATTUS — The Sabattus Rec. Club will hold its third annual Prediction Run/Walk at Oak Hill Middle School on Ball Park Road on Aug. 20 beginning at 6 p.m.
This will be more of a social, non-competitive event, with the main focus being to get out and get some exercise and to guess a good finish time in the process.
Participants will predict their finish time for the 5K course when they register. There is no limit. Any time could be a good time. No timing devices of any kind are permitted during the run. The participants closest to their predicted times will win prizes.
The course is a relatively flat 3.1 miles. The first male and female finishers will be awarded prizes, but fast times will not be needed to win prizes.
The Prediction 5K is open to runners/walkers of all ages. Those under 18 will need parental permission.
This will be a show-up, sign-up event, with no pre-registration required. Registration will begin at 5 p.m. There will be a $5 entry fee, and the event starts at 6 p.m.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
