BRUNSWICK — The Bowdoin College Athletic Department has announced that Christopher Flynn has been named an assistant coach for the track and field team.
A 2007 Westfield State graduate, Flynn earned his Master’s degree in Physical Education from Springfield College. He will coach the horizontal jumps and sprints for the Polar Bears.
Flynn brings six years of collegiate coaching experience to Bowdoin. Starting in 2007, Flynn worked as an assistant women’s track coach at Worcester State University.
From 2011-2013, Flynn coached the jumps and sprints at Springfield College, where he coached four athletes to NCAA All-American honors, as well as an NEICAAA champion in the long jump.
As a student/athlete at Westfield State, Flynn twice won the triple jump at the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship.
