BOOTHBAY — The Boothbay Railway Village will host a special guest visitor on his way back to Massachusetts. Thomas the Tank Engine is stopping by to say hello, and good bye, to Maine fans 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6.

Thomas is becoming part of the first Thomasland theme park in North America at Edaville USA amusement park, located in South Carver, Massachusetts. This narrow-guage version of Thomas has been in Boothbay undergoing upgrades. “Hosting Thomas for this visit and promoting Thomasland for Edaville is just our way of saying thank you to them for that opportunity,” said the museum’s chief engineer Brian Fanslau.

While in Boothbay, Thomas will be aboard a flatbed trailer behind a tractor trailer. The trailer will be located in the Museum’s parking lot so there is no admission required to come and wish him well. For those that want to stay and enjoy the museum, admission is $5 for children 3-18 and $10 for adults. Children under 3 and Museum Members are free.
