A THREE-CAR crash with a rollover held up afternoon traffic on U.S. Route 1 northbound near the Water Street overpass Tuesday in Brunswick. According to Lt. Tom Garrepy of the Brunswick Police Department, traffic was backed up on U.S. Route 1 around 3:15 p.m. when Matthew Buffa, 24, of Utica, New York, didn't notice the stopped traffic. Buffa attempted to swerve his 2006 Isuzu box van to the right to avoid the collision but wound up striking the right, rear corner of a 2011 Ford Escape driven by Thomas Hall, 61, of Pownal. Hall was sent forward and to the left, striking a 2015 Ford Fusion driven by William Wright, 46, of Gray. As Wright's vehicle was sent forward, Hall's Escape rolled onto its side and came to rest against the guardrail. Brunswick Fire Department was on scene to help extricate Hall. Garrepy said there were some injuries treated but classified them as minor.
