To the Editor:

Sometimes life comes together so sweetly that you just want to cry.

Such was the case on Sunday night, when the Bath Shakespeare Festival presented “Twelfth Night” in Library Park with a full moon in the background.

We heard that the production had opened indoors on Saturday because of the threat of thunderstorms, but on Sunday the cast was apparently elated to be outdoors, and so was the audience.

The performance scintillated. I have enjoyed watching Shakespeare for well over 50 years, and this was the happiest experience yet.

The direction by Stephen Legaweic was just about perfect for the venue and the acting was not just professional, but electrifying in parts. The intermission madrigals broke everyone up.

Wow, what an experience, and how fortunate Bath will be if this is only the first of many seasons.

There are two other weekends to see this remarkable play. Do it!
